Climbing in Finland is considered as an Every Man’s Right. However, creating new routes with bolts and anchors requires a land owner’s permission. Every Man’s Rights are based on the responsibility which means that climbing, camping etc. must not cause harm or disturb.
* there are restrictions on walking on gardens, farmlands and plantations
* do not disturb private houses and do not cross their yards
* it is allowed to camp temporarily as long as there is no harm or disturb to the land owner
* long term camping requires land owner’s permission
* most communities and towns prohibit overnight camping on parking areas or other public places
* it is forbidden to litter
* use public roads to access the climbing areas and cliffs
* Every Man’s Rights do not allow driving on private roads or off road
* park vehicles according to the parking instructions for each climbing area
* do not block the roads going to the fields or other farm lands
* use paths when walking to the cliff, do not cross fields or farm lands
* avoid yelling or loud music in climbing areas which have houses or recreation areas near by
* open fire is prohibited without land owner’s permission, however, the use of camp stoves is allowed
* cleaning a new route requires a land owner’s permission
* chipping or modifying the rock is forbidden
