Sorry to write in English, but if tried replying in Finnish I don't think you guys would understand!
Olhava is a big cliff by Finnish standards and top-roping becomes tricky as a result. I watched a climber fall about 30 mtrs down "Torpedo" once after trying to top rope the easy route to its left. I was really certain I was about to watch someone die. Fortunately something snagged and he stopped just a metre or two above the ground, bashed about but still alive. It is one of the most horrible things I've seen. These were beginners top-roping because they didn't know how to lead safely. As it turned out they didn't know how to top-rope safely either (a little bit more http://lightfromthenorth.blogspot.com/2 ... mbing.html
). The poor guys was still shaking and feeling nauseous from shock hours later.
If you are beginner just be really careful. Communication is difficult on a big cliff, and more than anything else that makes Olhava bad for top roping.
Again, sorry to write in English, but it still makes me feel sick thinking about seeing the guy fall. So have fun but just be really careful.
